About

Built by people who understand the room.

The Inner Room was created from firsthand experience inside behavioral health and addiction treatment programming — running groups, supervising facilitators, training staff, scheduling across facilities, auditing documentation, and building quality systems that hold up when people call out.

Why we exist

Groups should feel intentional, safe, engaging, human, and meaningful.

We have spent years inside addiction treatment and behavioral health programs — facilitating groups, supervising facilitators, training staff, scheduling across multiple facilities, auditing documentation, hiring, developing staff, managing performance, and building quality assurance systems. We've seen what happens when groups are treated as something clients simply have to get through: good people become burnt out, curriculum becomes inconsistent, and a powerful part of treatment loses its integrity.

The Inner Room was created because the quality of the person facilitating the room matters. We believe group work can be a space where people learn, reflect, connect, and grow — but only when facilitators are supported, supervised, and held to a clear standard of practice. We build the systems behind the room so the people in it can do what they do best.

What we believe

Groups are not requirements to endure

Done well, they are intentional spaces where people learn, reflect, connect, and grow.

Safety before insight

Nothing useful happens in a group that doesn't feel safe. The frame comes first, every session.

Scope is care

Knowing the edge of your role and handing off cleanly protects clients more than improvisation ever does.

Consistency is clinical

A group that reliably happens, at the same time, with the same expectations, is itself a therapeutic structure.

Facilitators need holding

People who create meaningful spaces burn out without supervision. We build support into the job.

Lived experience is expertise

Paired with training and boundaries, it is one of the most powerful assets in the room.

Say what's true

With clients, with partners, and in feedback to our own facilitators.

Where this comes from

Experience across every layer of group delivery.

Group facilitation

Years of direct facilitation in recovery and behavioral health settings, across process, psychoeducation, skills, and experiential groups.

Facilitator supervision

Structured observation, feedback, and coaching to keep facilitation consistent and clinically aligned.

Training & staff development

Built and delivered training tracks that move staff from orientation to competent, independent facilitation.

Multi-facility scheduling

Managed group calendars across multiple sites, balancing coverage, continuity, and facilitator capacity.

Documentation auditing

Reviewed attendance, engagement notes, and incident records against program and compliance standards.

Hiring & performance management

Recruited, screened, onboarded, and managed facilitators with clear expectations and feedback loops.

Quality assurance

Designed QA systems that make group delivery visible, measurable, and improvable over time.

Founders

People who understand behavioral health operations — and what happens inside the room.

The Inner Room grew out of watching facilities try to maintain consistent, engaging, well-managed groups while simultaneously absorbing staffing shortages, call-outs, turnover, scheduling, and training. Those demands compete with each other, and group quality is usually what gives. We built the company to hold that operational weight so leadership doesn't have to.
